You Can’t Fix What Is Not Broken: Contextualizing the Imbalance of Perceptions About Heritage Language Bilingualism

In this article, we discuss the perceptions of researchers who work on heritage language bilingualism (HLB), educators teach speakers (HSs), and, crucially, HSs themselves regarding nature in general as well HLB specifically. Despite fact that all groups are invested and tend to have a similar basic understanding development share common goals (HL) teaching learning, there non-trivial differences disconnects between them. our view, beyond various aspects societal milieu significantly contribute state affairs, maintain these also reflect unfortunate miscommunication how object outcomes research is packaged, contextualized communicated teachers direct influence over their education. Considering this, main goal contribution present provide forum which many voices involved HL research/teaching/learning acknowledged knock-on effects such acknowledgement meaningfully considered.
